    These shoes are less comfortable because of pressure points at the top of the laces. It has nothing to do with tight lacing, but comes from areas of thickness in the tongue itself. In all other respects they serve my purpose. But they do not breathe, despite the open weave fabric. They seem tough and stable, but hot. But they suit my purpose.

    If you have a wide foot, this shoe probably wouldn't be for you. You definitely have to go a half size up in length. I have a narrow foot and these shoes are a near perfect fit. The vibram sole makes them a good day hiking shoe as well as for general casual wear. Because of the wide gusset/tongue it seems to be almost designed as a slip on with laces. It isn't a problem for me, but might be for others.
