Merrell Reign Down Jacket - 600 Fill Power (For Men)

Light outdoor chores in COLD midwestern weather; needed something warm,light weight but easy to get on after shoulder surgery.

I really liked this product. I was looking for a warm layer to wear under a Goretex shell. This was exactly the product. Good warmth but not too full. Similar bulk to a micro-fleece jacket but much warmer without added thickness. Good product for layering or for just an outer midweight jacket. I tried both this and the Merrell Flux, and liked the Reign better. However, same problem with both - just too small - probably one size smaller than normal. I've had other Merrell products which always ran on the bigger size too. Definitely go up a size if you like a bit of room. Too bad I was already a XXL (I had to return) but still a nice product.

basic jacket, warm, but the cut is off. i bought it for my son who walks to school in brutal Vermont winter weather, and his arms extend beyond the sleeves by 4 inches or so. if i can find him some opera length winter gloves, he'll be all set.

This jacket is amazing! Very warm and cozy. It was -3 the other morning and I was quite toasty when outside for an extended period. Cannot believe how warm it is for it's thickness. This one is not very bulky. Too many other down jackets make you feel like the Stay Puft marshmallow man. I tried on several different brands before choosing this one. It is sized more like a down or polarguard sweater e.g. fits to size more like a shirt NOT oversized like a jacket. I purchased an XXL and it is sized like other brand's XL. Not an issue as this is quite warm by itself, and can wear a shell over if needed. Sheds water great (DWR). Am extremely satisfied, and still would be if I paid twice as much!

Been wearing jacket in temps around freezing and it holds warmth very well. Can let a little wind through on big gusts, but with a decent base layer, you will be warm and cozy. Some of the stitching is coming loose in areas, too. Overall, a great jacket for what I paid. This site can't be beat!

Works great for layering, does great by itself. Have worn in the rain and snow and I was warm and dry.

I was a little concerned about buying this jacket because I didn't know Merrel made jackets and I was concerned about the quality. However, the quality and warmth are just as nice as [...] jackets. Definitely a smart purchase.
