    I have arthritis in my feet. The first time I wore these shoes hiking we did some difficult climbing. My feet were happy all day. No stopping to relieve pain. Whee!

    A size 7 Merrell is usually a sure thing. This great little shoe is small and narrow and bummer: I've got to return it.

    Merrills usually fit me well and perform well for my uses. These were extremely comfortable right out of the box. Color (red) is much more subdued than I feared, more of a brownish burgundy, which greatly pleased & relieved me! I'm using the shoes for agility, obedience, and herding dog sports (indoors mainly, also on grass and not-too-rocky ground), as well as casual weekend wear--areas where they are doing quite well so far; I cannot yet address longevity. These shoes have enough support and cushioning for my activities, but I doubt they would work well for actual hiking or really rough, rock-climb terrain. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the shoes, especially at the price.
