Merrell Wakefield Coat - Waterproof, Insulated (For Women)

This is such a great raincoat. I looked around for awhile before I found it -- I needed something warm and functional but feminine looking too. This fit the bill. The insulation and seams keep this coat waterproof and windproof. This is my everything and everywhere coat (unless I need something formal of course). I'm 5'6" and 130 lbs, the medium fit perfect so that I can still layer underneath. My tiny complaint is that I find it challenging to zip it up because it's hard for me to reach the bottom of the coat to access the zipper due to the length of the coat, but this will just take some getting used to (else I'll have my husband help), so no big deal. I've had this coat for about 2 weeks. I'm very happy with this purchase and got it for an excellent price from Sierra Trading Post.

I am thrilled with this coat. I am 5'8" and the medium fits perfectly. There are lots of details that make it a little dressy. I would rather do without the velcro next to the zipper.

It is a really pretty coat and really handy for windy days. I was expecting it to be a little bit warmer but with a nice sweater under, it feels ok!

This is the perfect rain coat. The insulation is not overwhelming but warm as I often get cold, even in Spring rain. DONT size up! My usual LARGE was perfect. I am 5'10" and 155#. I have room for a sweater underneath. I originally ordered XL per the previous reviewers and was swimming in it. I like the length (which keeps my thighs from getting wet) and the little duck bill on the hood (which gives a little more shield if it is raining sideways). I've seen more feminine coats, but NONE offer what this one does.

This is very nice material and well made. But the sleeves are way too long - reaching the tip of my index finger (I'm 5'4") - and they cannot be tightened at the wrist effectively. There is a tab with a snap and 2 snap-receivers on the coat - but even the tightest one would only tighten against a very very thick (10-inch?) wrist. The snaps are so unique that one wouldn't be able to match to add more. I was about to return it, but it is so nice I finally figured out how to alter it myself. Having it done would've cost way too much. I'd recommend this only for taller folk or people handy with a needle.
