these shoes are what they should be, a comfortable shoe that is perfect for going out. They are not that stiff (new dress shoes always are) they shine well and if you switch from European to American lacing, they lace up tightly and won't come undone.

Very nice shoes, feels a little too narrow though, overall very satisfied.

My other Mezlans (made in Spain) are much better quality than these Nigels (made in Brazil), but they are also more than twice the price of the Nigels. Some problems I've had after a few weeks of wearing: A sign poor quality manufacturing - the gap between the two sides of lace-up over the tongue is 1/3 inch wider on one shoe. This is not my foot, as all my good quality shoes do up with an identical gap. The insole on one of the shoes has bunched up a little (but in arch of foot so not a big problem). Not a terrific shoe for narrow feet - the heal is a little loose. But overall reasonable for a narrow foot. I order a whole size down with office/dress shoes that have a pointed toe box, as my foot is narrow and the pointed tox box allows for a size down. This shoe is OK for the money, but it's getting close to being not OK :)

I love the quality of these shoes. Don't buy these if you are conservative because they have a long and almost pointy appearance- they will stand out. I'm surprised (although I haven't wore them outside) that they are comfortable. Normally shoes with this build quality, i.e., with leather bottoms are uncomfortable compared to shoes like Eccos that aren't typically leather on the bottom.

These shoes are a work of art. They clearly stand out among the crowd. Though there is some break-in period as they can be stiff out of the box. Get ready for all the compliments!

I wanted to try a square toe shoe but they are not my style. They look great..........just not on me. I'm too conservative. I gave it 4 stars because they are very well made. I would recommend them to someone that likes this style.
