lower part of a good rain suit that can't be beat for the STP price. To bad it's not a breathable membrane but hard to complain at the price

I picked these up for around ten bones. These are a shell, not pants. keep that in mind. They are nice for the money but are baggy, then again, they are a shell. The reason for not giving 5 stars is this the button snap to access your front right pocket (on the underneath layer pant) pulled the snap out of the flap on the first unsnapping. wouldn't be THAT big of an issue had they not fully enclosed the snap on the flap with material. I will have the cut the material to put the snap on. Actually I may just use both layers of material to ensure a good fastening. Also, the leg zippers have this long dangly string on them that you have to remove unless you don't plan on walking at all. Otherwise, you will step on it and potentially break the zipper (hey, if the snaps break... I don't see why the zippers wouldn't)

These are great in snow & keep under-layer dry. Terrific for brush and swamps. Noisy-bad for wildlife photography on the move. I use them mostly for off-trail nature photography. So far, they've only had winter use.

Although a bit heavy for UL, these will keep you warm on winter backpacking / camping trips.

These pants are very thick and noisy, similar to the actual Gen I ECWCS pants issued by the U.S. military. They clearly have a label that says "Made in China," and were made by Caribbean Outerwear Corp. They may be mil-spec, but I doubt it. They are certainly not Gore-tex. Still, for the price they are not bad. They are meant to be worn over layers, so they do run large.
