Mini LED Headlamp

Worked OK a couple of times, then wouldn't turn off, or switch between red and white light. Returned.

This is a great little light for an incredible price. It is a high-quality name brand light and I have yet to see the blemishes on the 3 lights I bought. They are amazing for the price, especially with any extra coupons. You get a nice, light-weight headlamp with red LED for the price of a keychain light. The light is decently bright on the highest setting and perfect for cooking or eating on the lowest setting. It is a low-cost, small light, so don't expect it to perform at the level of lights 5 times the cost. It is perfect for using around the camp or in the tent. The only negative comment I have, is that you have to cycle through the bright light to get to the red LED which can hurt your night vision initially. They were such a good deal, I bought three of them for my kids and will always carry one with me as a back-up light source. It is very light and takes standard AAA.

Small enough to carry anywhere, anytime. Bright enough to meet most needs. Low beam battery life impressive. High beam limits battery life to emergencies, only. Great quality in a simple light. I ordered more to give as gifts.

Right out of the package this light does not function properly. With inserting the batteries the first light function is the red light. Once you change to a different function you cannot go back to it...unless you take the batteries in and out 6 to 10 times until it decides to revert back to the first function, and then it starts all over again.

Reviews of this light seem extreme, both pro and con, perhaps because the highest and lowest of the three light levels are extreme. It makes me wonder if some users read the information that comes with the light. IMHO, the red light is a "nightlight" only, good for leaving on all night or for waking sleepy eyes gently, while the brightest setting compares to what other manufacturers operate as a battery-eating "hyper" on a separate switch. If the low-white setting on this mini-headlamp is considered as the (only) NORMAL use setting, I find the whole assembly and concept to be delightful, with luminosity and color temperature very good for campsite/reading/emergencies, while the same mini-light is able to provide extremes of high and low light in one tiny package. Six months ago I helped supply twenty-four residents of a group home with these lights, and they are all still thrilled with them, AND with the battery life. Contrarily, I've met several Appalachian Trail (novice) thru-hikers who passionately hate the same light, complaining of too short battery life. I suspect the hikers were using the "hyper" bright setting routinely, demanding a puppy to do the work of a mule. I'm a long-distance backpacker, too. I read the instructions; it works great for me. I bought and used three, and then bought five more to give friends.
