large easy to read date. classic yet contemporary easy to read markings. never goes out of style. the best and most unique part is the illuminated hands and time markings that allow you to easily tell the time in the middle of the night. the little glowing tubes of light are the best part. mondaine is part of luminox so these are the same glowing tubes used on luminox watches. you will have to reset the date at the end of every month because of the way the date windows are separated, but that is a small price to play for being able to easily read the large date window. i get compliments all the time about how easy it is to see the time/date even in low light.

Finally, I have been looking for a watch that I could read the face and especially the date. This is a high end quality watch with a nice thick leather band. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This is a fine example of excellent Swiss workmanship, as well as an icon of the Swiss Railroad, with the red second hand patterned from the red paddles held by conductors to signal departure. It is an accurate timepiece, lightweight and attractive. The tritium night vision feature is now owned by Mondaine having acquired Luminox and is a small wonder and convenience. My wife wears hers in preference to either a Rolex or Omega, both purchased in Swizterland, as do I as well.
