Light and warm, but leaks down

This is a llightweight but warm mid-layer down jacket. Warmer than a standard fleece jacket. I've worn it as a mid-layer on the mountain when the temperature was -15F (over long underwear and under an insulated ski jacket), and also as an outer layer lounging around in the camp (on top of long underwear) when the temperature was 30F, next to a campfire. I can wear this as the only outer layer on 35-40F about town, but I prefer not to because the shell looks too flimsy. It will easily rip if you don't cover it with something else.

I deducted two stars because the shell fabric leaks down. After using it less than 10 times, always as a mid layer, I noticed that not only was down leaking from a couple of seams, but also through a few very small holes away from the seams. I don't expect this to happen to a new jacket! At this rate, in a couple of years the weight of all the fabric tape patches will exceed the jacket weight :-/
