Montgomery by John Partridge Classic Duffle Coat (For Men)

Closeouts. Nothing even comes close to the quality of a genuine English duffle coat, and this Montgomery by John Partridge Classic duffle coat embodies all the traditional hallmarks -- from the wool-rich fabric, to the horn-toggle front, to the regal plaid lining.

This coat is trimmer fitting than my older John Partridge duffel coat, and the wool is not quite as plush. The second week I owned it one of the toggle straps broke. I had it fixed for a small charge. My tailor liked the coat, repeating that it was "very nice," "a very nice coat." So there you have it: a nice coat with some small flaws, but worth the trouble.

Great coat. Excellent craftsmanship. This coat is "hand-made" in England. I purchased one in camel and one in charcoal. Both are nothing short of exceptional quality and great value. Again, can't stress enough how refreshing it is to find something made with care and attention to detail using "Old World" techniques. This totally feels different than the traditional Chinese mass produced garments. This is built to last and will not go out of style! I must also add that i also bought similar coat here in STP made by another English company " Gloverall" and the quality is very similar. Can't go wrong with any of these coats. I have used them in subzero temp in Canada as well as in regular cool nights in Texas and they perform very well! Highly recommended.

Like many others have said here, the leather used in the toggles is very cheap and lightweight, and the stitching to attach them is even worse. Mine did not last a month before the stitching unraveled on not one, but two toggles. Very disappointing. I'd like to think I got a poorly manufactured one, like others have mentioned with their too-short sleeves, but this is an inherent, cheap design flaw. STP is getting bolder and bolder with their fibs in their sales copy and descriptions. Look elsewhere, folks. What good is a winter coat that won't stay closed?

Very strange design. Overall, the coat fits perfect, except that the sleeves are too short, as mentioned by other reviewers. Unfortunately i did not believe them and wasted the expensive shipping charges to find out for myself. I am 6'0" and 175 pounds and ordered the size 38. Since the rest fit very well, i did not want to go up a size, so i am returning the jacket.

I realized this coat was inferior to the Navy Duffle of the same manufacture purchased from you the previous week. Such an item should never have found it's way to you inventory. Owing to the difficulties involved in returning an order fro Australia, I have cut my losses and donated the coat to a charity. The integrity of STP has now been indelibly compromised from my viewpoint. The Navy coat weighed 9 lbs and the (inferior Camel coat weighed only 5 lbs. The difference in quality speaks for itself

Beautiful coat but feels small across the back and the sleeves were about 2 inches too short. Will try a 44 long next time.
