“I have been tired of my heavy hiking boots and these were a good alternative. As someone who rock climbs and recognizes the Montrail brand, I got 1/2 size up (I usually wear a 6 wide). Rock climbing shoes are meant to be a tight fit so you don't slip out of your shoe and these shoes are built for scrambling on rocky terrain. These are great in mud, snow, and wet weather conditions, but not deep snow as the breathable layers on top will get wet.”
