    I use these both for trail running and for hiking- I have done strenuous 10 mile hikes in these shoes with no problem. I overpronate, and find these shoes give me just the control I need.

    These shoes are great for running on rocks and roots. I run about 6 miles every day on a mountain bike trail which is very rough on your feet. On my second pair.

    I can't even begin to list all the different trail shoes I've run in, and the Hardrock is hands down the best (I think I'm on my 7th pair). They're perfect for running trail ultras, but maybe overbuilt for shorter distances. If you're looking for a good fitting, well constructed, stable shoe that will hold up for the LONG haul don't bother with anything else, just get these shoes - you'll be happy you did.

    this is the 4th pair of hardrocks i've owned. i wear them long past the industry recommended 400- 500 miles- then they become climbing approach shoes). our home trails (wasatch)are steep, rocky & technical & eat shoes really fast. i'll train 50+ mi/wk & run 5-6 trail ultras in them this season- they more than stand up to the abuse.

    My wife and I both purchased a pair of the Hardrocks.They have firm cushining which we prefer over over other shoes of this type.A close fitting shoe which gives the Hardrocks stability on uneven terain.With their exceptional construction I expect the Hardrocks to have great longevity.Not a whimpy shoe.I will definitely purchase them again.

    This is about my 15th pair of montrail hardrocks and i'm glad i found a trail runner/hiker sneaker that i could depend on when my old sneaks are wearing out and i need a new pair. After running and hiking thousands of miles with montrail hardrocks, they are definitely the go-to sneaker for me. Since i have really flat feet, hardrocks give me the support i need that allows me to keep doing what i love to do.
