    Pros:
    Great Traction, Lightweight
    Cons:
    Uncomfortable
    Sizing:
    Feels too small
    Was this a gift?:
    No
    Width:
    Feels too narrow
    Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Definitely runs small. I wear and 8 in most shoes, and get 8.5 in Montrail (I have several other pairs of montrails). In these, however, 8.5 was quite small and very narrow in the toe. They'll have to go back.

bought these for a 2 week excursion to the PNW. i wanted something cute that i could wear around Seattle and Portland and also wear hiking in the Columbia River Gorge and scrabbling on the Oregon Coast. these shoes never let me down, my only regret is that i didn't buy another pair. after returning home i wore them to work nearly ever day for 2 months (i stand 12-14 hours a day) and they have maintained their structural integrity. well done, montrail!

I've run in these shoes for years. They don't seem to wear out other than tread which typically lasts 500 miles + on rocky trails behind our house. These shoes don't tear or show any other wear with time. They are very light weight and comfortable and really need no break-in time.

These shoes are great. Although they are trail runners I got them as approach shoes. The traction is fantastic and they are very comfortable - even after a two-hour bushwack approach in extremely varied terrain.

These sneakers were a great deal. They are not the perfect match for me because I'm not using them for trail running, but I've found a great brand of sneaker/hiker--Montrail. I'm impressed with how well the shoe grips my heel and stabilizes my foot (I'm an over-pronator). I am on my feet at work for many hours and I also use them for walks and light hikes. I had to add Superfeet inserts to provide extra, firmer arch support, but these shoes work PERFECTLY with the Superfeet. No aches in my feet and calves! I had been about to give up on my Superfeet, but maybe they just needed the right shoe to go in. These sneakers are very well-structured. These shoes are garishly cute/cool. Mine are lime green and blue and I think they're really fun looking and stylish in their way. Happy to find a supportive shoe that does lead to pain in my feet AND looks fun!

I have had several Montrail shoes in the past and have loved them. But I've never had a pair for running on the trails. I thought for [$], why not give these a try. And I really like them so far. I've been on 2 runs with them, an 8 miler and a 4 miler with No problems. I am normally a road runner and run in Puma's that are really lightweight. So I will say on my first run, the shoes made my legs feel like lead, but the second run I didn't notice it so much. And I love the bright colors!

Have worn the first pair steadily, even on long day hikes. I guess you either love em or hate em, judging by the reviews. I bought 2nd pair for the bright colors. I would not say they run a full 1/2 size large. They are styled narrow through the toe and forefoot like approach shoes, but I'm between a 9.5-10 and there's plenty of room in the 10 for heavier socks. Heavily padded ankle looks a little odd at first (kind of like a skate shoe), but turns out to be really comfortable.

Liked the first pair I bought so much I ordered these blue/green ones as soon as I saw they were on offer. Have day-hiked in my first pair, scrambled on rocks, just knocked about with my dog. I admit, sometimes I buy shoes I like but don't actually wear them much. Not so with these. I know I'll eventually wear out both pair. The color scheme on these blue/green/brown ones is not for the timid, but that suits me fine.
