seems like a well built boot but has a funky fit or cut in the ankle area, almost like too much/too little fabric, i couldn't figure it out, but it was almost like it wanted to fold over.

felt comfy right away. I hike about 1 to 2 hrs. at time on trails and roads. I have been using them with my snow shoes in -0 temp. and my feet have stayed dry and warm. don't bother my ankles or rub the back of my ankles breaking them in! There was no breaking in to do. nice boot

Fabulous boots for the price! I have bad ankles and these boots give me outstanding ankle support. They fit true-to-size too. My wife bought the higher end Montrail boots but I couldn't pass these up for the price. I plan on putting these to use clearing trees and brush up North. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Got it with a discounted price. It is so comfortable that I wear it even in my daily life. Besides, it looks professional and cool. I can't wait for the hiking with this pair of boots.

Overall, I thought the Montrail Kenai Hiking Boots were a great purchase. Just got back from an Arctic Camping trip of 3+ days from the Catskill mountains of NY. Coldest it got was -5 degrees and with 1 pair of wool socks; my feet &/or toes never got cold. Hiking & playing games in the snow; never did my feet get wet or cold from the snow or weather. I recommend breaking them in a little bit before any major hikes (like any shoe for that matter) to ensure no blisters. Overall; I am really happy with my purchase and future usage with this product.

Great boot. No need to worry about breaking them in before a long hike. There is ZERO break in time. Not only do they fit good, feel great, they are pretty nice looking with not only my hiking shorts, but a casual night at the local pub in some jeans. All around, superb!

if I didn't encounter the problem with the boot digging into my ankle, this would have been a superb medium hiking boot;I own and use a similar low-cut version of this boot without any problems
