Wanted so much for these to work. Great looking, but wore them in the house for a few hours and they rubbed my heel raw. Tried again a few days later and they were still not working for me.

these shoes were great looking and fit right out of the box. No breaking in required! I've hiked trails and walked pavement for miles and they have been comfortable from the get go. I still haven't run in them but don't doubt these shoes will perform well in all aspects. The sizing was true and there is plenty of room in the toe box which is important to me, and unusual for an online purchase. The heel has a nice snug fit as well. I am very happy with these and plan to purchase another pair very soon!

This a slightly lower heel than a traditional running shoe. This allows me to switch to a more forward running style with less heel impact. The shoe is very lightweight. The tread is not super aggressive which is fine except for thick mud. Super for high arch folks. This is my 2nd pair-seem pretty durable.

This is not a cold weather shoe. It is so well ventilated that you can actually feel the air circulating as you walk! So your feet would get too cold in cold weather, but in regular weather your feet will be very happy, cool and comfortable. And because it is so comfortable and light, it is ideal for trail running because you don't loose the 'feel' for the terrain that you would with a heavily cushioned shoe such as the type you would choose for road running.

I was looking for a light hiking shoe and thought maybe a trail runner would suffice. In this case, the Mountain Masochist didn't work out. It was uncomfortable to walk in - the arch support felt a little too close to my heel - but felt a bit better while running. I took to the treadmill to see how it felt after a longer distance. Again, walking was uncomfortable, and running at speed not much better. At issue this time was the construction of the heel - softer on the outside and stiffer on the inside - presumably part of the motion-control feature, but not good for me!
