    Pros:
    Ankle Support, Good Cushioning, Lightweight
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Would loved to have kept these! I ordered up a full size (per other comments) and they were still too small. I don't have a large or wide foot, but these really were tight. Wish I could have ordered another 1/2 size up but they weren't in stock.

Good and sturdy, great for easy hiking trips. Though not waterproof, i can step in small puddles and not get wet as the sole is high enough. Have yet to test in heavy rain.

These would be good shoes if they didn't run so small. I normally wear a 7 but ordered an 8 because of the other reviews. I can barely get my feet into these 8's and they are so tight that they immediatly rubbed the back of my ankles raw. I am having to returnn them because they are not available in a bigger size.

The sole ripped off the bottom of the boots after just 30 miles on the trail. The may be comfy, but they are of very low quality. Poor showing, Montrail!

I use these shoes on all types of hiking trails: steep, rocky, boulders and everything inbetween. The higher boot provides great ankle stability on the irregular terrain and also protects the ankle from scrapes. It is not waterproof which has never been a problem for me. They dry fast if I do get wet ~ which I have. If you are hiking flat terrain the 1/2 size up will do. However, I purchased these a full size up so that my toes wouldn't cram on the way down steep terrain. I replaced my others (exactly like these) that were 1/2 size up for the full size. Perfect! I have a narrow, low-profile foot. If you have a chubbier foot you might want to go up 1 1/2 sizes.

Nice lightweight boots. Just note that I bought one size larger than I normally wear and those were too small. Bought them a size and a half and they are ok. They take some getting into but are comfortable once on.

These seemed small for the stated size, so I returned them with regrets.
