Deserves the award

I used these for a 2-week Grand Canyon rim-to-rim (and-thereabouts) lightweight backpack, and they performed excellently... through a 15-mi. full-on downhill at the start and the 10-mi. full-on uphill at the finish, and all manner of combinations in-between... plus stream crossings, dust, river sand, and mule droppings and puddles. Not to mention heat. (A torture test, to be sure.) Fatigued muscles appreciated the grip and torsional stability crossing rocks in streams and forever hiking up into slick-rock side canyons. And you know that feeling when you finally get to camp and can't wait to take off those (grumble-grumble) hiking shoes? Never once had it on this trip. And they're still comfortable, doing hikes since. That's my test. And they passed.
