“comfy, but rubber falls apart fast”

By lixy from san francisco on 09/28/2008
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Flimsy
Best Uses:
Bouldering, Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor
Describe Yourself:
Avid Climber
Sizing:
Feels full size too big
Width:
Feels true to width
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
“These are comfortable shoes, ggod for people with longer 2nd toes. They run small. I intentionally got mine looser than normal, for whole-day not-too-technical climbs, but even so: I wear a 38 or women’s 7.5 and I got these in 39.5 which is perfect for a comfortable fit; for more technical climbing I could go to 39, so still a size bigger than I’d normally wear (I tried both mens and womens, they all run small) They didn’t have the womens in my size, so I got the mens, which means that the heel digs into my achilles a bit). However, the biggest drawback is that after wearing only 5-6 times the rubber is already wearing off, and the rubber on the side is delaminating. I don't mind so much--for this price I’ll just resole them with the much stickier and better IMHO 5.10 rubber and/or just use them for crack climbing where a loose fit is ok!”
