Love this brand, they are slick soled on smooth igneous rock, especially when not well broken in, but this is the only wart on this product. On my 5th pair now, tried many other brands, this is the best, and I live in my hikers every day.

So far these boots are great! I was looking to replace an old worn out pair of REI boots I've had for about 5 years (the soles were starting to peel off). These Montrail's are very comfortable right out of the box. The ankle support is fantastic, and they feel true to size (8.5). My husband bought these same pair of boots in green 2 years ago. I see that they have held up really well, and he's very hard on his boots (uses them for hiking & construction work). Plus, I had a coupon for Sierra Trading Post, and ended up paying only [...]I've tried on Asolo's, Garmont's, and other brands, and they never would fit or look right. These look good, and fit great. Would recommend!

The boots kept my feet warm and stable the whole Whitney trip. Dry???? Not so much. The trail was covered in snow and my feet were drenched after the first 3 miles. Soaking wet, heavy, waterlogged boots didn't make my feet very happy. No blisters or cold feet; I was just disappointed in the waterproof/gortex claim. Even after just a few puddles on the trail my feet were soaked. The boots didn't rub or irritate my feet, they just held water.

I am quite happy with the look and feel of these boots. They were a great deal with the sale. I haven't tried them in water or anything technical, but they feel really solid. I love them!

I had to send these boots back, order at least a half-size larger than normal.

Just starting up hiking...so far so good. Great product and a great price.

I had used Montrails (trailrunners) on my Appalachian Trail hike, before they were bought out by Columbia. [...] Since then, I don't know if the company has become better; but I went back to Montrails, and the Torre boots in particular, because they fit me so well. I don't blister with a new pair, and these boots last quite a while (about 800-1100 miles a pair). The Vibram sole gives good traction, the boot is stable, and they gave me the ankle support I needed after a nasty series of sprains while on the John Muir section of the Pacific Crest Trail. For lightweight, dry hiking, trailrunners work well. For everything else - wet weather, snow, long carries, and the like, these boots are what I use.

I really liked the boot, however it was too narrow for me so I will be returning it. Made really well, looks like it would be a long lasting boot. If you have wide feet then it wont be for you.
