I have used these boots to hike in Maui and in Colorado. They seem a bit narrow and I recently ordered a pair one-half size larger to accommodate thicker socks for some cold weather hiking I plan to do in the near future. My feet feel very stable in the boot with very little slipping and good arch support.

I was recommended this product by an outdoor store who were unable to get hold of it in England. Searching online I came across this site and was immediately impressed by not only the prices (and these massively undercut any others I found) but by the clear information and huge variety of options (size/colour etc.) The boots live up to their reviews, they are an excellent buy. Extremely comfortable hard wearing boots, that make walking a pleasure (not that I find it hard to enjoy hiking, but it is so much better when you can forget about your feet!) Highly recommended.

I have lost count how many boots I have tried on - but the toe box around the ball of my feet has always been too small. I purchased the wide version (I don't have wide feet) and I finally have a Goretex boot that I can wear. I do have to wear a heavy sock with a liner, but it works. I tried the non-wide version and it would have been uncomfortably tight even barefoot. My husband got a wide pair and he said it was the best fit - none of his aching toes hurt.
I have yet to wear them on the trail - but I expect good things.

This is a good heavy duty boot. I have weak ankles and low/flat arches and average width feet. However, the toe box felt too narrow with my orthotics even when I took the footbed out and inserted my half-length orthotics. I even tried them with the two thinnest pairs of socks I could find and they still seemed to narrow to me. I had to return them, and decided to go try a pair of Raichles. The ankle support seemed excellent, and the boots seemed to be well constructed, though they may be warm in summer months

Great quality boot! I really wanted to keep it. Everything about it is comfortable, durable, stable, great arch support, great contour comfort fit in the ankle. Solid feeling, but not too heavy. My husband has the men's and loves them. I'm a 9 1/2 women's foot with low volume in the arch/upper foot/heel, but longer and wider toes. My biggest challenge is finding a boot that doesn't squeeze my toes. This boot is great in toe room and the 9 1/2 boot was the size that fit (I tried the 10--too big). The only reason I had to return this boot was that my heel slides too much and I can't tighten it down enough to hold my foot in place on the downhills, even with the green Superfeet to take up some space. If my feet were higher volume, like my husbands, these would be the perfect boots. (If I put in Superfeet, my heel fits the scarpa nangpa-la boots that many people review as too narrow, if that helps as a guide for foot volume)

Ordered these for a backpacking trip coming up soon in Yosemite. They look and feel like they'll work out well. They are pretty heavy (over 3 lbs.), and I doubt I'll use them for dayhiking. I like the lighter Montrails I bought earlier this summer, though, and that's what prompted me to go for this pair in a more serious boot. The fit is good for me with my average-to-narrow size 9.5/10 foot (I ordered the 10s, plenty of room for two pair of hiking socks). Only 4 stars b/c I haven't actually tested them on the mountain yet.
