Montrail Wasabi Rock Climbing Shoes (For Youth)

My daughter says that these are more comfortable and stickier than the ones she'd been using. They seem to be easy to get on and off. She thought it was pretty cool that they needed to be formed to her feet. Baking shoes amused her.:P We got the biggest size they had since people seemed to find they ran small. They fit fine, and a little room to grow into (she wears socks with them now). Overall, they are a great product.

Okay - I know that rock climbing shoes are supposed to be tight, but this is ridiculous. I always wear a 36 in regular Euro sizing like Danskos and such(about a women's US size 6), so I ordered the 36 (4.5 in kids). Well, I think it's more of a 4.5 women's, because I could not get my foot into the shoes at ALL - hence no other descriptors are checked in my review. My 8-year old daughter wears a size 1 youth, and they fit her, for Pete's sake. Definitely size up 2 sizes - I would think that maybe a 38 would fit me with the proper toe-smushing needed for climbing. Since this is a kid's shoe, I assumed that the 4.5 size was in kids, but it must be women's. Very weird sizing.
