Montrail

I work in rural areas plotting electrical services. I need durable, all-weather and all-terrain. These boots work.

I've got multiple pairs of Hardrocks now. The fit is great and I'm even thinking of using my older pair as everyday shoes.

Generally I like a stiffer sole but this boot is a great for day hikes and long city strolls.

These are my wet weather work boots. They provide the support of a boot and the comfort of a shoe. Quality construction here.

As with all Montrail boots I have owned, they seem to be designed so the wearer can "feel the trail",connecting you to the path the way a fine sports car allows you to feel the road, they are stable and comforable, very well built. They will need several uses before the boot shapes to you foot. This is a low boot, not quite a shoe offering some ankle support. I would not recommend Montrail shoes for people with small narrow feet judging from my wife's experience, I'm 6'1, 220lbs and I prefer Montrail.

My foot doctor told me to try these after a tendon tear. The shoes have been the best investment over the last 4 years. Each type of Montrail supports different foot issues (see their website for details). I have tried other montails but this has the best support for my foot than the other types of montrail shoes.

Used on MUDDY Spring trails in and around Seattle

I haven't used them for climbing yet, but wore them around the house to break in. Adjustable strap digs into back of heel (will probably cut off unless shoes stretch). Consulted avid rock climber about very snug fit needed for good grip and told that it's normal for toes to be slightly crammed into toe box. Tried on other very expensive climbing shoes ($100+) to compare fit. Good price for beginning shoe.
