Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Verified Buyer Reviewed by seagreenaz from Arizona on Tuesday, August 19, 2014I am reviewing this before it has been taken out in the field because so few reviews are available for it. I purchased 5 bags from STP for comparison. This bag is superior to all the other bags. This bag was purchased for a rim-to-rim-to-rim backpacking trip across the Grand Canyon. The features I was looking for were a balance between weight, size, price, durability, and temperature versatility.
I opened the bags without matching price to bag. The quality difference was immediately noticeably between bags. This bag was the lightest even though it had the lowest temp rating. When packed in its compression sack, it was by far the smallest - half the volume of any of the Marmots and the Vaude. It weighed less by 1 pound, which is significant when carrying a 35 lb pack. The lifetime warranty and good name of MH assures me as well. My concerns- how quickly the down will dry if it becomes saturated, how water repellent is the case, and will the treatment of the down cause clumping over the long haul. While the price was double the other bags in my shipment, no other bag came close to meeting our needs. I purchased the regular size for my 5'11" son, however my 6'2" son needed the long.
Will updated product review after field testing.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Gear Guy from Seattle, WA on Monday, June 16, 2014I bought this sleeping bag as a birthday gift for me daughter so I haven't used it myself. But she has and is very pleased with it. On a recent chilly weekend camping trip she had no problem keeping warm - and that's unusual for her.
