    Pros:
    Comfortable, Warm
    Cons:
    Zipper
    Best Uses:
    Backpacking
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
The bag is warm and the material is very comfortable. The zippers are a pain as they are always catching. Make sure you have some time to get in and out of the bag - you will need it.

I owned this sleeping bag for several months before I decided to send it back. I found it to be very warm, packed well and very light compared to other bags. The unique zipper configuration allows you to unzip from the "bottom" of the zippers and stick your arms out to read/etc. It definitely is made for colder weather, as the lack of full-length zippers or a footbox zipper prevents any venting if you get too warm. Getting in and out of the bag can be tricky, as you have to sit in it, slide your legs in and then wiggle the rest of the way in. My main problem was it felt too restrictive for my 6'3", 240+lb frame. There isnt really any room to move, and folding my arms across my chest pulled the bag tight. I opted to go for the Extralamina instead, which uses the same insulation/material and has a full-length zipper that goes around the footbox. Its also quite a bit roomier. All in all, I really liked the bag and wished it was roomier, but the Extralamina suited me better. The new 2011/2012 version actually has a full-length size zipper, so Mountain Hardwear does listen to customer feedback! Good job, guys!

Bag worked well on a rainy 4-night trip on the Appalachian Trail in NC/TN in March. Nights were high 30s & I was on the warm side, so I just left the zippers opened to ventilate. Bag got a little damp, but warm just the same. Nice compression sack that came with the bag. I chose the long bag even though I'm 5'11", and it was big enough for me to draw up my knees and lay sideways.

Had a late winter backpacking trip to Carter Notch Hut in the White Mountains and knew I would be staying in an unheated bunkhouse and needed more of a bag than what I owned (warmer, lighter, more packable). I know the AMC recommends 0 degree to -20 degree bags for winter hut stays. Figured with a liner rated to improve bag rating by 25 degrees I could wing it. So I hoped this bag would meet my needs especially at such a great price. Turns out the night only dropped to the 20s so did not use the liner, and slept very warm. I got the long as I am 6'2" and weigh 230 and did not feel cramped at all. The zipper did get stuck a little but I have yet to have a bag that this does not happen on occasion. It packed nice and small. Very happy with this bag and look forward to many more trips with this well made bag.
