Mountain Hardwear Arroyo Skirt (For Women)

This skirt definitely runs small. [...]. I also noticed the brown is an inch bigger in the waist than the sage, even though they are the same size. I do belive these are 2nds (with a big red 2 on the tag). I'm not sure other than the sizing problem??

I bought this skirt for hiking; haven't taken it outside yet but from experimenting at home, I think it will work well on the trail: it is not constricting, good for long steps (when you have to jump over a puddle or climb over a boulder). The material is very lightweight. the design is very attractive and practical: 4 pockets, drawsting inside two of them for pulling up the hem. The only strange thing: the high waist. It goes all the way up, so on days when you feel icky and bloated, you might not be comfy in it. This design decision seems unsual to me, because all outdoor clothing is usually oriented toward comfort. But that is the only drawback. If you want the waist to ride a little lower, order a larger size (they are pretty trim fitting on top). But beware that a larger size will mean longer length and a boxier fit all around. all in all, I have very high hopes for the performance of this skirt.

This is a wonderful skirt - perfect for running about town and chasing children at the park. It is that perfect "bend-over" length, not too short, nor too long with a flattering a-line cut.

I also bought two of these skirts, both of them seem to almost pucker on the back seam which makes them look quite strange. Also one skirt fit fine but the other seemed to be a size smaller (about an inch in the waist). Does not specify that this item is a 2nd but my 2 skirts had a big 2 on the tag so I am assuming this is for 2nd. Quite disappointing.

I bought two of these, in the same size, two different colors. One was quite roomy, and the other just a tad too tight. At least a good 2 inch difference in the waist measurement between the two skirts! Weird. Unfortunately, the color I preferred was the one that was a bit too tight, I didn't want to exchange it-- felt like a total gamble whether the next one might be the same or bigger or who knows what. Also, the stitching in the back, on the rear center vertical seam, caused the fabric to pucker around it, which made it look bad. Man, I so wanted to be happy with this skirt! I have been coveting it since it first came out, and seems a very practical design and material. I was sad I couldn't find the right fit and good sewing.

OK, so I may not be so sexy, but my girlfriend (for whom the skirt was a gift) is, and she loves this piece. It's actually the second one that I purchased for her (different colors) and now she bases entire vacations around "where can we go so I can wear this skirt?" According to her, it's perfect for everything except shoveling snow, and even then, with the right thermal bottoms...

Great for warm/hot days, and soooo comfy! Skirt's length can be adjusted for hiking/wading through water, or cooling off on a very hot day. Ideal for traveling, biking (yes!), or just hanging out with friends during the day. I have already two of these skirts and they can be dressed up/dressed down, if necessary. I also like the adjustable waist (I have big hips, but a small waist). The length is just above the knee (I'm 5'8" and bought size 8)

Great product for travel wear!
