I purchased this jacket for skiing. I wanted a hard shell to go along with a down sweater or fleece. The jacket was warm. In 20 degree weather I paired it with a fleece and was toasty. However, after a few times wearing it, I noticed that the outer material was starting to fray. I'm disappointed. I expected more from Mountain Hardwear. Another drawback, though it looked nice, was the fleece collar. If it was snowing while I was skiing, the snow and ice would stick to the collar, so I always had to ski with the collar zipped all of the way up. The cut was also too loose for me.

This seemed like a great coat, but if you're looking for something warm for skiing or other cold weather sports, this is not it! It would be perfect for spring skiing, or cross county skiing on a day that isn't really cold. I'm looking for something much warmer, so I reluctantly sent it back :(
