I live in the southeast, but I do not tolerate cold too well. This is my first down jacket I have owned, so I really can't compare to others...but I did quite a bit of research. Wore this in a blustery day in the 30's for an outside sporting event, and the only thing that bothered me were my feet. I love hood and the pocket liners. Everything seems top quality. Only complaint is the roominess in the mid section. My son said I look funny in it, but I don't care. It is WARM baby!!

Simply superb and probably the best down jacket designed with multiple improvements (thicker material to keep the zipper fromsticking, warm pocket liners, zips us past the neck for warmth, welcro sleeve opening fasteners).

I love this jacket. Have not used it yet, but look forward to staying toasty if needed. The only complaint would be it might be too roomy around the mid section/torso (but I am a little on the thin side). Looks to be a great jacket, though.

I love this Mountain Hardwear Chillwave Down Jacket! I ice fish a lot during the winter, and finally broke down and bought this through a sweet deal on STP. I'm not disappointed at all. My first use of this jacket came while fishing the Burbot Bash at Flaming Gorge this past weekend. Man, was it windy during the day, and I didn't feel a thing. So Nice! The temps were consistently in the teens and twenties, and the wind blew non-stop for three straight days during the day. The only thing I had on underneath was a lightweight running shirt, and I never felt cold at all. I highly recommend this jacket - especially if you are going to be outdoors and not moving around much. I am 5'10 and 160, and the large fit great. Wasn't too big, and will allow for layers if needed.
