Reviewed by LWidd from Colorado on Wednesday, April 20, 2016I bought this thinking it should work for my teenage daughter and I to camp in. We live in Colorado so it cools off at night no matter what season. The tent windows are only screens so it ventilated whether you want it to or not. Even with the full fly deployed, the tent wouldn't hold heat on our spring break trip to Moab. Plus we couldn't zip it up to keep the red dust out. Well made but should seal up.
Reviewed by Mtn Stew from CO on Monday, February 10, 2014I was impressed with how easy this was to set up, and the ample head room it offered. Haven't taken it outdoors yet (only set up inside to check it out). I was disappointed that it came with what seemed to be cheap tubular-hook style stakes. Not a deal breaker since I already had a set of V style that I swapped them out with.
Reviewed by DJ from California on Friday, October 11, 2013I haven't camped with the tent yet, but I'm looking forward to it!
Do know that the tent that comes does not fit the picture that STP uses!!! It is much less private (without the fly) with wide mesh windows all over, and the door design is different (very low). Check out Mountain Hardware website for the accurate picture http://www.mountainhardwear.com/corners--3-OU9488.html
Reviewed by Betsy from Louisiana on Monday, August 26, 2013I use this tent for camping on the beach in Florida and it met all my expectations. July 4th weekend was a very wet one with heavy rain and wind, and I had no problems at all with the wind or rain. I stayed high and dry. Roomy for two people with a queen size air mat and ample storage area left on three sides. Easy to stand up and move around inside. The outside storage area comes in real handy, especially during rain downpours. I received many compliments on my tent at the campground I usually go.
Reviewed by Upper Midwest from Upper Midwest on Wednesday, August 21, 2013We bought this specifically for kayak camping. We chose it for it's light weight, portability, roominess and cost. We are giddy about many features:
* Hey, we can change clothes sitting upright!
* If it's raining we can sit upright and play cards!
* Good ventilation (beyond important with more than one in a tent.)
* Two doors! No more irritating your spouse by crawling over her on the way to a late night pee.
* Vestibules to keep gear dry in the rain
* Built in gear pockets everywhere
We weren't too happy at the floor design because in a raging rainfall a seamless tub floor is the way to go, but, hey, the sale price was excellent and as I mentioned earlier, after camping in a wee pup tent we are slap-happy and giddy at all this space in a lightweight tent that easily slips in and out of our kayak hatches. We will need to buy a foot or a pad of some sort before we go on our next island paddle. If it proves problematic in the rain you'll hear it first.
