I wore these canyoneering. While the material is much more rugged than other pants (TNF) and held up, there are 2 serious design flaws. There is no belt or belt loops. So they are not comfortable with a heavily loaded pack and you can't tighten a belt to keep your shirt tucked in, the red ants out of your crack, and the poison oak off your back. There are no cargo pockets to carry snacks, knife, etc. Just one cheesy pocket with a flimsy zipper. Great for travel wear. They look really good.

I have worn these pants day after day from everyday use to hiking Isle Royale and braving the blackflies and mosquitoes. They are super comfortable with perfect waistline that sits right on your hips. Not for someone with a larger waist but comfortably fits a rounder bottom. Biting flies don't seem to bite through the material. The lightweight material is perfect for summer but not so much for bushwacking. love them and will invest in another pair!

The rise sits just below the belly button on me, so not sure how it will work with a backpack. I wore day hiking and these pants worked very well. The thigh zip pocket is a little low for practical use. I have not quite figured out the elastic cord at the bottom hem. No toggles to keep them secured when tightened. Overall great quality and fit.

Much too large and long for me. Also, very heavy fabric. Would be great for a very tall person in cold weather, but then why zip off to shorts.

Pants fit funny. Right size in the waist, but VERY tight in the legs and butt (and my friends joke about my lack of a butt) and will have to be returned. That being said...I think I'm going to order a size larger and see what happens.

The pants look and feel great. The only downfall is the wait does not come with the ability to adjust it at all and there are no belt loops.

The description fails to mention the low-slung waist. Do we really need low-slung waistlines out on a mountainside?! The size difference between the hip and the waist line is terrible. It is designed for someone with a large spare tire--waist much larger than hips. Did they look at the figure of a woman before these went to the manufacturer? A huge let down.

i wish these pants fit right. great quality nice pocket room. there are no belt loops so if you waist changes slightly there is no wearing these pants. Sizing feels off a size and way long.

I bought these pants for my trip to the Grand Canyon. "Classic Fit" description is accurate, but pants are also "low rise." I liked these pants so well that I want to get another pair!
