Northern Michigan has a variety of ways to make you miserable in the winter. This coat combats them. It is a nice combination of warmth for the weight and weatherproof to protect the down. It has a great collar for sealing out drafts, a warm hood, an inner and outer smaller high chest pocket, micro-fleece lined hand pockets and a waist draw string. This coat is cut wider than Mountain Hardwear is usually cut so the inner drawstrings were a necessity for me in cold winds. This is not an "athletic" cut or feel at all but a good parka type coat at a fair value. My nit picks...the collar is nice and snugs around your neck, so why didn't they do the same with cuffs? At times the double zipper's bottom zip creeps up, requiring some fiddling to unzip fully enough to take off. Other than that I really am happy with this. It looks decent enough to wear out without feeling like you are wearing trail gear on the town.
