Reviewed by GenerateLotsOfBodyHeat from Seattle, Wa - Hike in the Cascades on Thursday, April 12, 2012I tried the Drystein for one purpose: would it allow more of my body heat to vent than my Goretex rain jacket. My existing jacket is roomy, very easy to layer under, has HUGE pit ventilation zips, but can get hot in spring/summer use. I generate a lot of body heat. My aerobic capacity is limited by the amount of body heat I generate not my muscle conditioning. My rest stops are to cool down, not to rest my tired muscles. I was hoping the Drystein would be light enough and vent enough to allow me to keep cool. I tested it out on a stair climber at the gym. With it on I did 45 minutes. Every 10 minutes or so I took my hands off the handles and put my arms down at my side. STREAMS of sweat dripped on to the ground from both arms...a sign that I was heating up. Then a couple days later I did the same with my existing Goretex with pit zip wide open. A little water in the form of drops dripped to the floor but not nearly the stream of water that dripped while wearing the Drystein. My conclusion is that the Drystein is for those that do more technical climbing (I mostly day hike)where a snug fit is essential and getting clothing snagged is a real risk and serious hazard. It "may" move humidity better than Gore-tex, but it is not by orders of magnitude better...........my 2 cents.....oh yeah....I returned the Drystein after my test.

- Pros: Good for hot weather, I love MH stuff, Snug-ahtletic fit, Very light, Water Proof, Wind proof

I am 6'2" and 210lbs and tried a Large and ended up with an XL. The XL fits well with enough room for layering if need be. STP had a great price and I couldn't refuse!
- Best Uses: Around town, Backcountry skiing, Backpaking, Climbing
- Pros: Lightweight, Very breathable, Waterproof, Well Designed
