Mountain Hardwear Flip Jacket - Reversible, Insulated (For Women)

I love this jacket and get compliments on it all of the time. It is a little more orange in color than I expected, but it is a great color.

The fit & style of this jacket was awesome. I love that it's fully reversible. The sleeve length was perfect for me (my arms are on the long side). The only color available in my size was the bright orange, but I thought I'd give it a try. It is similar to Blaze Orange. When i ordered it, I thought that while orange isn't my favorite color, a coral jacket could be ok. Well it isn't coral--it's almost neon. The reversible gray side is so plain (no embroidery like the orange side). So as much as I wanted to like it, it's going back.

I have the brown version of this jacket & LOVE it, it has so many colors that match almost everything!.......This jacket is a super hit!

When the jacket arrived I was so excited! It was nicer than I expected. From other reviews I was wrooied the sleeves would be too long. Not the case. I was so dissapointed that I had to return the jacket, though. I bought it for a ski jacket and belay jacket. It would work well except it was too tight for layering. I could easily wear it for casual wear, but with technical clothing it didn't work. I am pretty true to a standard 4/6 size but need a larger size for my purposes. If you are normally a 2/4, get the small, not XS.

Lot's of review comments on the sleeve length: They are long-ish, but they are great for my 5'9" frame. Also, I will use this jacket for skiing and I really like that the sleeve still covers my wrist when my arm is bent as it will be when holding and using a ski pole. Color and embroidery are great, although I doubt I will wear the solid gray reversed side. Overall sizing: I'm tall with long limbs and normally a size 6. I ordered the medium jacket and it fits well: shaped through the torso for feminine curves and enough room for layering. Overall length covers upper hip; overall weight is very light, but I'm sure the high-tech lining and insulation will keep me toasty!

I just got this in orange yesterday. It's bright but I love this jacket! Not bulky but will be warm. Very stylish looking. Soft nylon, not the stiff noisy stuff. The orange fabric seam is curved in at the waist, so even without it skin tight, it looks tapered/more fitted when wearing. I got a medium so I would have a little room for winter layers or heavier weight winter tops/sweaters underneath (which I want in a winter jacket). Many people commented on the long sleeves here. My arms are long, so the sleeves are not excessively long to me, but they have a wide (somewhat elastic/stretchy) cuff band at the end of them, so even if a bit too long for you, they won't slip down over your hands and won't need to be rolled back/cuffed a turn to keep your hands free in this jacket. That is a nice feature for sleeve length control I didn't see highlighted in the past reviews. The price I paid couldn't be beat either, which is why I love shopping at Sierra Trading Post! Very happy I bought it and would recommend this jacket to others.

Love it. Very warm, the sleeves are long which I love with cuffs at the end so wind can't get up. Sheds water, very stylish. Love the orange

I have several Mountain Hardwear coats and jackets and they are superb for tall women (I am six foot tall). The biggest problem finding fit is the sleeves, but Mountain Hardwear sleeves are always long enough. I have tried on every other brand of outdoor gear and nothing fits as well.

This jacket combines performance with an attractive design. The size small jacket fits my very average 5'3" 130 in a manner that flatters my shape without restricting movement. The appropriately tight cuffs keep drafts from coming up my arms and tuck easily inside my glove. There is a barely visible chest pocket accessible from the outside of the jacket on the left side and an additional chest pocket on the right side that is only accessible from the inside of the jacket. There are two pockets at the waist that also conceal well, with the added bonus of accessibility from the inside of the jacket. If you were overheating in the jacket you could unzip the waist area pockets from both the inside and outside for added ventilation. One slight annoyance with the jacket is the toggle closure for the rolled away hood placed mid-center on the inside of the jacket's collar. My hair often gets caught up with the toggle and this is not entirely enjoyable. Also, though the jacket is fitted, it is not a light-weight jacket by any means. It feels so heavy to me that I often think I've forgotten something in the pockets. To be fair, when I'm not wearing this jacket I am wearing First Ascent's down "sweater" that weighs in at a miniscule 9 oz. On a superficial note, I have not ever worn this jacket without receiving compliments about its look. I have the orange one.

I have only used this jacket for casual wear but could definitely see it being warm enough for hiking or other winter activities. Stylish jacket that has gotten me several compliments!
