Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by Kevin from Houston, TX on Sunday, December 1, 2013I don't know if this bottle set is any better or worse than similar sets that are available. I generally don't take hydration on runs, but I needed to carry something in a recent 50K trail race with only limited aid stations available. I chose this, and I am quite satisfied. The case was very light weight and unobtrusive; there isn't a lot of "extra" space for carrying items. That was fine with me because I didn't carry anything other than my drink. The lid is easy to open and close, and the bottle stayed in the case without slipping out. I took a few tumbles along the course. For one tumble, the bottle broke my fall, and it was not at all damaged. After the race, I purchased a second of these bottles to be better prepared at future races (by swapping out bottles instead of stopping to fill the single bottle).
Reviewed by SJG from New York on Tuesday, November 19, 2013I'm fairly happy with this. It's the first handheld system I've used and I'm not sure it's that much better than just holding a bottle. The bottle is nice with a really secure valve that, even when in the open position, will not leak unless you're really squeezing the bottle. The downside is that you need to squeeze it pretty hard you get a pretty powerful stream of water. No casual sipping here. There are two pouches. One can fit a single gel package and that's about it. It also has a key clip but if you have more than a couple keys, you won't fit anything else. The other pouch is tiny. Wouldn't fit a credit card. Maybe some bills folded up.
