Verified Buyer Reviewed by lwalters from sitka, alaska on Friday, May 23, 2014I love it, It's easily stowed, lightweight and I can take it anywhere because of that. Hiking in the rain forest, you never when you are gonna get wet, I can pull out this jacket as needed and it's nice to not have to wear a raincoat 24/7.
Reviewed by Pathfinder Susie from Oklahoma on Sunday, December 29, 2013Super thin and light-weight yet sturdy and effective wind stopper that fits over most of my other jackets.
Reviewed by kp from colorado on Friday, November 1, 2013You definitely can see whatever you are wearing underneath. The jacket is so thin, I felt scared I would rip it. It was a little smaller than what I would want. I ordered the small and returned it but would have exchanged it for a medium. However, I found a comparable option for half the price. I do believe it blocked the wind quite well - I am pretty sure I was a little warmer than I would have been without it on the one quick walk I took in it - but it was warmer day that I thought. If you are looking for a backpacking layer - this would be a wise purchase.
Reviewed by Mountain Bluebird from Mt Shasta area on Sunday, June 23, 2013This is a very functional, tough, and nice looking windbreaker. Fits nicely with room to move. Fits in the palm of my hand and weighs nothing.
Need to consider what you wear under it as all colors show through. Wish it had a hood.
Reviewed by Dance Faery from Palo Alto, California on Friday, March 8, 2013I piked this jacket up for cycling around town, thinking it would be white and light weight. It is actually more of a clear-white, and turns a pastel shade of whatever you are wearing underneath it due to the color showing through. So it does not look white on unless you are wearing a white top underneath it. It is super light weight, and made of a thin, parachute type material. It does not provide any warmth, but it does cut wind. I decided to keep it because it is so light weight, and takes up almost no room. You can stuff it into a pocket or panier and forget it's there, which is great for emergencies, etc.
The biggest drawback is that the color of the shirt you wear under it shows through, and creates a pastel look of that color. I saw a guy wearing this jacket while at lunch one day, and his red and blue striped shirt looked like a bubblegum pink and light blue through the shirt, making it look like he was wearing a girls top, until I got closer and realized he had this jacket on! So do watch what you wear under it.
