This jacket fits me very well. I’m 5/10 with a stocky build. The large has just enough room for a full fleece and a fleece vest under layer. Without the insulation layers it is not bulky. I have to rate the fit for me as perfect. I will be skiing in all weather conditions next season and will rate the DryQ Elite this time next year. All of my previous water proof breathable jackets outer layers soaked up water after 50+ day ski seasons in the mid Sierras. I wash and maintain to the manufacturers recommendations. So far I am very happy with one mixed snow and rain day.

All in all very happy with the jacket. I have worn it in snow and extreme sub-zero weather and have had no problems. Have not worn it in rainy or mixed precip. weather yet. I got a 2x so that I would have no problem with any layering combination underneath and that seems to be a good choice. I am 6'3" and like my clothing a little loose. Front zipper seams to catch sometimes when zipping up but not a big deal right now.

great shell. M fits perfectly (i'm 5'8" 175), with the exception that the monkey thumbs are just a tad short and pull on my hands when i extend my arms. its amazingly waterproof and windproof and has a nice removable powder skirt in case you want to use it for some epic hiking treks in wet summer weather. glad i made the purchase!

I like almost everything about this jacket, but it's not quite perfect. It's light, breathes really well, and sheds wet snow exceptionally well. The pit zips are great, the powder skirt is awesome, and it fits much more snugly in the torso than the same size MH "Snowtastic" jacket. I tried the Large in both jackets, and I could easily add a full-sized bed pillow in the Snowtastic and zip it closed. The Girdwood is a much more athletic fit; great sleeve length and enough movement in the shoulders for backcountry skinning/skiing. The only negative I could really find on this jacket is that there is not one single exterior pocket that is placed to be useful while wearing a pack. A waistbelt goes right over both lower pockets, and a chest strap goes right over the lone upper pocket. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but it is a curious design flaw coming from Mountain Hardwear. The breathability, water resistance, and overall fit far outweigh the minor nuisance of not being able to use pockets on the jacket. I keep my stuff in my pack anyway.

I'm 6'3",ordered the XXLG jacket, fits a little loose, sleeves a little long, but that is better than a tight jacket with short sleeves when doing outdoor activities. Love the jacket
