Mountain Hardwear La Rambla Shorts - UPF 50 (For Women)

When I got these shorts, I was excited because they are obviously very well made, with nice details such as double stitching, well-placed (and sized) pockets, and flattering length. HOWEVER - the waist is at least a couple inches too large. My waist is pretty proportional to my size (12), but this waist gapped and just didn't sit right. I considered trying to alter the waist by taking in a dart on each side, but decided that this would ruin the line of the waist, so these shorts had to go back. Too bad there is no drawstring or other way of adjusting the shorts, because in every other way, they are great. I'd say they would fit only if your waist was significantly larger (maybe a size larger?) than typical for your size.

I wore these shorts recently on a hike. So comfortable, great feel! Lots of pockets that are not "just decoration." The only con would be that the zipper pockets are a bit sharp on the outside and it's possible to get scratched.

They are very comfortable for hiking. I like the belt feature. It would have been nice to have a zip or some sort of closure on one of the pockets. I have found that in sunny but humid weather the fabric doesn't breath, but in a light rain the moisture just runs off them.

I am returning these because they fit quite low on the waist(lower than my Ex Officio bikini base layer, and lower than most MH pants I own), and they do not even have belt loops to make sure they stay put! Between that and the lack of stretch to the material, I am sending them back. They might be okay for casual wear, but they didn't seem built for performance hiking wear.

These shorts are very well made with some "technical" features but also look super cute. They will be great for travel!

I have found it difficult to find casual shorts for hiking and recreational wear that was flattering and fashionable, so when I bought these, I loved the fit and comfort so much that I bought 2 more pair. I was recently caught in a downpour and was amazed that they were somewhat water repellent and then dried very quickly. I would highly recommend them for hiking.

I ordered a 10, which usually fits me fine...these are a little larger than I expected. Otherwise, I love 'em.

Great shorts, typical Mountain Hardwear quality. Be careful about the sizing as the waist runs large and there are no belt loops. I generally wear a 12 in MH for a loose, comfortable fit but in this case I should have ordered a 10.

This will be my everyday short, after mt. biking, working in the yard and kicking around. I do think they run a size large, I am an 8 and had to get a 10. They are a little big, but very comfortable. I do have only a 30" inseam and the length comes all the way to my knees and looks silly, so I have to hem them, but otherwise they are great! Super lightweight, well made, these are keepers.
