Although the quality of this backpack seems good, it is bigger than I expected. I bought this to use as a daypack on a trip to Peru but I think is just too big. I'm not sure if I will use the bag or return it. I

I bought this for my son who is in the 7th grade. He loves it, and so does his older brother!

Too heavy. Very awkward as it's too long & bulky to use with over-the-shoulder strap - can't avoid bumping into it. Small pocket zipper catches easily on material. Will return.

My first backpack since grad school. This bag has a good deal of room, with a padded and suspended laptop bin big enough for a 17-inch Macbook Pro. Lots of clever pockets. I like the aluminum tubes over the zippers, plus over the center carrying strap. The one over the strap makes it much easier to hand-carry if you don't want it over your shoulders. This bag will be good for day trips, flights, or for light backpacking. A solid bag at a great price!

I bought this bag as a school backpack/computer bag. It is larger than I invisioned, but is proving quite useful. My laptop is 13", but the bag will carry up to 17". The actual size of the computer compartment is 12"x16". The compartment has a padded bottom and is called "floating", so the computer is not sitting on the bottom of the bag, but the bottom of the compartment. Plus, the compartment for books and other stuff is larger than I need. 5"deepx16"tallx13"wide. These are approximations, but the bag can be stuffed. The material and hardware seem heavy duty, and I expect it to last. Actually, I will use it as a camera bag and daypack on hikes, too. There is a zippered compartment near the top front perfect for glasses, a side velcro pocket for a phone, other side for a water bottle - fits a nalgene 32oz. Seperate places for pens, wallet, a clip for car keys. I expect it to last as all of my other MH products have. I use it as a backpack as I don't like the weight distribution of a messenger bag, but it can be both. I would be happy to answer any questions about the bag.
