Bought this to wear here on the Pacific North Coast where is can get chilly most of the year. I wanted a fleece top that I could take on and off easily instead of pulling it over my head. The fit is nice (I'm 5'9" 125 lbs) in a medium and the green color is very nice. I like that the sleeves are lo... Read More

This color is like poppy, love it. Yes it does run small but perfect for me, nice to wear something form fitting for a change instead of boxy jackets. Enough room for a long sleeved T-shirt or light weight turtleneck.

This is a super cute jacket...my daughter is not used to a "low-profile fit" style, so she thinks it's a bit snug...I am returning it, but only because it's a bit small for her....I wanted to exchange for a SM but STP no longer has that size :-( All is good - easy return policy makes it all worthwhile. LOVE STP!!

I own this fleece in 5 different colors from 2-3 different years. It's by far my favorite lightweight full-zip fleece. It does run a bit small. I'm often a S in Mountain Hardwear but M is a better fit for me with this one. It's fantastic for travel/camping - super-useful as a lightweight jacket, a mid-layer, or an extra layer for sleeping in cooler weather. Highly recommend!

Fits as expected. A nice lighter weight fleece good for cool days. The color is very bright, almost neon, but it did seem to tone down a tad after the first washing.

I checked the size guide and irdered a large as indicated by my measuremenrs. I am 5'7" and 134 lbs. The shoulders and sleeves were much too long. Too bad because I liked the color and the lighter material.

    • The photo is a pretty true representation of the color, I would agree the color leans toward cornflower blue.

    • The Mountain Hardwear Microchill Jacket is designed to be an outer layering piece. It should have a semi-fitted feel. If your concerned about a really tight fit I would suggest ordering a size up! I hope this helps! Enjoy!

    • I think it would work well as a top layer under a ski jacket. I bought a medium, 5'8" and 160 lbs. The jacket is slim-fitting but comfortable.

    • This jacket might be a good layer under a ski jacket as it is very form-fitting.

    • I think these have changed since 2012, because the one I have is very tight. I wear xs in all athletic clothing, but the xs in this jacket probably would've fit me perfectly when I was 9 years old...no exaggeration.
I can zip it up, but can't fit any layers underneath...the sleeves are particularly tight. I'd size up a couple sizes if you want it to be a jacket.

    • I totally agree with Stella. I got an XS (I'm 105lbs 32B), but the arms are too tight to fit a long sleeve shirt under. I'm returning for the next size.

  • “Is this product true to size? Does it run small? What do you think?”
Asked by Becky from Virginia on 1/8/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • The Mountain Hardwear Microchill Jacket is manufactured to have a Classic Fit. Classic fit clothing will be semi fitted and follow your figure. It will be a little tight

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
