I didn't like the huge arm holes that made the top of the shoulder stand up. Felt like the large was too big and I am 6' 185.

A good layer for regular casual dress, and sturdy warmth for hiking or skiing.

Just what I was looking for: mid weight, windproof, pockets including chest pocket. Haven't had it for long, but fabric and construction seems really tough and solid. Will likely use it sailing, around town, day hiking, possibly spring skiing. Probably a bit too heavy and not really needed for overnight/multiday backcountry trips. Nice high collar. Slim fitting, which I like, so it will fit well under a shell. Only gave it four stars because it's nice, but didn't knock my socks off. Maybe it's the blue color that's okay but not spectacular but all that was available in my size. :-(

I love Mtn hrdr produsts in general, but some of the sizing of the jackets and vests do not work for me. I am 5'10" tall and 190 lbs; built fairly solid. It seems their cuts are made for runner builds only. I bought the lg vest and it fit well in the shoulders and chest but was too bulky in the midsection, and a little long. I wanted it as a layering piece. I ordered the medium, and it was just a little too tight across the board, so neither size worked for me; oh well.

I bought this for my son who lives in San Francisco. It usually doesn't get very cold most of the time so it will be perfect for those cool evenings riding his bike home from work. He is about 5'9" and weighs about 170 and the large fit perfectly. He also travels all over the world for his company so this vest will be a great addition for layering in uncertain climates.
