“I wear a 6 in the MH Petra shorts & find the Navigation pants Med (6/8) a bit roomy; I'd most likely wear these w/ long underwear but at this point am not sure if I'm gonna exchange for S.
Softshells differ in thickness- these are on the thin side (not nearly as thin as Patagonia Simple Guide Pants, much thinner than Arcteryx Gamma MX).
I couldn't find the "invisible zipper tab" that another reviewer mentioned... there are definitely long vents on the outer thigh thus meant for high aerobic activities. I mostly rock/ice climb & since these are not waterproof, I'm not sure if they meet my needs.
The biggest drawback is how much these weigh: 20 oz (the thicker ArcteryxGammaMX is 13 oz).
