Bought in ghe bright green- very nice color. Opened package- nice and light. Soft lining and soft outer fabric- not too stiff. Put to the test today- in ADKs in high 20's, brisk XC ski, wearing a light base layer and an 800 fill MH down vest. Once I got rolling, i was getting warm, almost took off the vest. Got warm enough to feel hot and a little sweaty but never progressed. Never felt more than a little sweaty, opened pit zips to cool down. Inner jacket never got damp as in a Pac-lite Gore tex one I usually use which opens at the pockets and pits to vent. So this is a rousing thumbs up. I am confident in the waterproofness when that need arises.

Bought this coat for my wife. She is very happy with it. She has a detailed eye for quality clothing and she thinks this jacket is well made.

As a ski patroller, I wear Mountain Hardware coats and ski pants, and the fit has always been perfect. Plus their clothing lasts forever, so I was excited to find this coat at Sierra Trading Post! I ordered a Medium in this jacket, but this product had a very narrow cut on the shoulders and I have broad shoulders - yet the sleeve length and body proportions were perfect. I ordered a Large so the jacket fit over ski layers through the shoulder area which then made the body-cut too wide. I will have to return both coats - and I loved the Dry.Q Elite material. I am bummed!

I really want to like this jacket more. The sleeves are long enough which I often have trouble with and it's very breathable and light. However, it's just short enough to sit on my rump, but not cover it, so in heavy rain I'd get a wet behind and it's barely big enough at the hips, but doens't have a 2-way zipper to provide ease if you have on bulky bottoms or are sitting. It's going back, but would work for some I'm sure and the price/quality ratio was good.

During a recent trip outside Seattle, I proved that my Columbia rain jacket was not up to snuff. The Mountain Hardware rain jacket is really waterproof and breathable. The adjustable hood does the trick - big enough to go over a hat, but snugs down over my head to keep the hood and visor in place. I have short arms and the sleeves were too long as are all sleeves. As noted, it is a bit slim in the hips but I am not (no surprise there). There are plenty of pockets. It pairs nicely with the Mountain Hardware fleece. It has been a great companion on my international travels.

This is a great rain jacket. It's lightweight and has a great hood. The hood is large (may be large enough for a helmet but can be adjusted to a normal size with two bungees. I'm really tall, and the arms are long enough for me! Only con is that it's a little pricy.
