Reviewed by hambone from New York, NY on Wednesday, October 24, 2012I got the Medium in the red color (I'm 5'8", somewhat thin, and have long arms). It fits pretty well length-wise, but was a bit wide in the chest/waist area. I'm ok with it being a little wide as it leaves me room to layer underneath of the jacket on really cold days. I plan to use this for walking/hiking during the winter. I haven't tried it in really cold weather yet, but within minutes of putting it on in my apartment, I was sweating! It has an adjustable drawstring at the waist to prevent cold air from coming in, as well as adjustable velcro on the cuffs. There are several pockets on the jacket. Also, it comes with a stuff-sack, which is nice.

Question “I got my gf the womens mountain hardwear phantom down jacket last winter and i was shoveling her driver for herwhen it snowed the one day and her dad wasnt home and she was sick. So it was just me. I hate mens winter coats cause there so puffy so i was wearing a sweatshirt. Which got soaked. So she said to just use her phantom coat. Which even though it was small on me i kind've liked even though it was a womens coat. i was wondering if you think it would be fine as a boys coat if i got the right size my bust is 38 inches. And my waist is 36 inches. My arm length is is 32 inches also. My stomach is about 34 inches so should i take that into concideration too??”

Answer You could try try the Phantom jacket for women a large is a 12-14 and the bust of a 14 is nomally 39.5" and the XL is a 16 which the bust size is usually 41". The large would be a snug fit and XL would be a little more roomier.||You might consider the North Face Diez down jacket for men, also with 800 fill power down insulation, our item number 3996V.
