I adore this jacket! I was hunting for a good soft shell with a fleece lining and this is exactly what I needed. Living in Wisconsin, you have to be prepared for everything (not to mention I'm always travelling out West and mucking around in the cold and wet).I've worn this jacket in the sun, rain, ... I tried 3 different sort shells before I settled on this jacket. I usually wear a medium but a large fits great- big enough to wear a sweatshirt underneath. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an everyday jacket. I'm 5' tall and 130lbs. The sleeves are long but I'm used to that which is why the Velcro on the cuffs sold me on this jacket.

Love this jacket, but I carefully checked the reviews prior to purchase to get the right size. I'm 5'7", 120# and purchased a medium. It's a perfect size for a couple of light weight layers underneath. The jacket itself is not warm, but does break the wind.

Fits nicely. Great color and I love the feel of the fleece lining. I like the added touch with the velcro at the end of the sleeves. Allows me to place the sleeves right at my wrist when i need to use my hands.

I ordered a size up from what normally wear thinking princess seaming would be an "athletic" fit; sizing up makes jacket perfect for thin layer under jacket yet princess seaming allows layering over it as well. Very nice soft-shell jacket, still pricey even with STP discounts.

This jacket is amazing - extremely well made, but I think it runs a bit small. I'm a small and bought a medium hoping that I could layer clothes underneath but it was too small - especially the arms.

  • “Does this have a drawstring bottom?”
Asked by Monica from Montana on 10/25/2014 6:01:56 PM
    • I didn't realize until reading this question, that yes, this jacket does have a drawstring. I'm not a fan of drawstring on jackets, but after looking at mine, I realized there was a drawstring cord on the bottom of the jacket that I didn't even know was there. So, I guess if you are looking to have the drawstring, this jacket will work for you. If you don't want a drawstring, you won't even realize it is there.

    • Yes, there is an adjustable drawstring on both the left and right sides, along the bottom hem.

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories.
