There is some emerald green yarn in the weave that shows in the grooves of the weave but the green is very subtle (I think this is very cool). The sweater is perfect for layering on cold winter morning walks. I don't machine wash wool garments, I hand wash them, so I won't be wearing this sweater when I'm going to exercise and get sweaty.

Answer I would recommend getting a medium because the length of a this medium sweater is 25" so that would fit your desired size of 6/8 very well. However, remember to dry flat when used in the washing machine because this could shrink in size from the materials used to make this sweater.
