Mountain Hardwear Sarafin Sweater (For Women)

I really like this sweater. I have quite a few of the cardigan style in Small. After reading others reviews, I decided to try this out too. I am normally a small (Banana Republic/Gap size or sometimes a medium- depends on the brand), but for this top, I can wear both the XS or Small. XS is quite fitted, but follows my curves just right and is very flattering. Small looked a little bit slouchy on me, but I liked that I could layer it with a t-shirt underneath in the spring/fall, or a turtle neck in the winter. The cardigan style is a fitted cut with seams at the waist so it is less straight and the sleeves are cut thinner. This style has roomier sleeves. Also the sleeves are cut long because they are meant to be. The current trend is to have sleeves that are long and have thumb loops. Although this doesn't have the thumb loops designed in, it's arm length is such. I fold them back when I don't want them long. I love the heathered poly-wool fabric. Very pretty and eco-friendly. It's fleecy inside, soft but a little bit itchy when new. I machine wash in a laundry bag and either hang to dry or dry flat. I've noticed that this material has loosened and stretched out over time. Gets a bit fuzzy so it's not quite as smooth as when new. Pills a little bit, but they remove easily, not like how a cashmere sweater pills all over. The Sarafin sweaters have become my "go to" top for a casual, effortless but pulled-together look.

I liked this sweater so much I ordered it in two more colors. Love the thumb loops though they get a bit scruffy after tons of wear. I wear it to work, casual get-togethers, apres ski. Does not seem to pile too much.

This sweater is perfect for outdoor activities, weekends around town, or casual office wear. The quality and fit are excellent. The inside is soft and fleecy; great for fall and winter.

I love this sweater so much that I have 5 different colors. Some say the sleeves are a bit too long, they have thumb holes and are designed to be a little long. Sweater is soft, doesn't pill, doesn't stretch out and washes beautifully.

I loved the first one so much, I had to buy another. Would've bought a couple more, but certain sizes were out in some colors. The one I've had for over a year now still looks lovely. Slight pilling in the armpit area is easily taken care of with a sweater shaver. After a year, show me a sweater that *doesn't*. :) The color has held beautifully and I get lots of compliments every time I wear them.

Perfect fit. Super comfortable. Would have gotten 2 more if they had another color in my size.

I first bought the Sarafin cardigan and loved the feeling and warmth so I bought the Sarafin sweater. Both sweaters run a little small due to their classic fit so I ordered larges when I usually wear mediums. The arm length on the Sarafin sweater is a little long so I just roll up the sleeves. I would buy more of these sweaters if the sizes were available.

I love this sweater! I bought one at full price a few years ago at a local sporting goods store, and just bought another for me and one for a gift. I would have bought more if they were still available in my size. Slimming and flattering, light weight enough to wear indoors comfortably, and looks great over shirt collars or turtlenecks.
