4.0 out of 5 stars. Good quality overallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Thursday Sportsman from New Jersey on Monday, March 30, 2015I'm 5'8 165, I got a medium. The fit is tight around the chest and arm pits and the sleeves are a little long. It gets a little cramp when I start to layer. Seems to be cut more for a lean and lanky body type. The material performs as advertised, it's kept me dry in the rain and breathes extremely well. Overall, good quality jacket with a lot of features, just be aware, it's not a generic fit.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket, a bit poofy in the midsectionReviewed by Mitch from Boulder, CO on Thursday, February 26, 2015Bought this about a month ago and skied about 10 days now in Colorado and Jackson Hole in both storm and spring like conditions. Totally waterproof, better than Gore Tex for breathability, terrific ski-utility with pockets everywhere and I love the sleeve zip pocket for carrying my pass and some small sucker candies. In a perfect world the 2 inner mesh pockets would zip shut, but I keep a platypus in there anyway and it won't fall out as long as you stay upright. There is a small internal zip pocket just big enough to hold a phone or MP3 and maybe a credit card and some cash.
My only issue with the jacket is that has a good bit of excess material around the belly and it is not the most flattering cut., so, poofy around the middle. I'm not fat but I'm not skinny either, 6 foot, 205 Lbs. I don't love the color but for less than half MSRP on sale at STP I can live with those issues. You will stay dry! -
5.0 out of 5 stars. High Quality Soft Shell with Highest Waterproof and Breathability RatingsReviewed by BMW from Columbus Ohio on Tuesday, February 25, 2014Mountain Hardwear Dry Q Elite website shows their Waterproof and breathability ratings, are among the industries highest rates. Yes, it's windproof too. You can find several YouTube videos on the topic. Jacket runs true to size. If you're at the middle to upper end of your Mountain Hardwear listed sizes considering buying the next size up if you like to layer with a warm more bulky down vest as I do. Also gives aggressive skiers like my self who are constantly leaning and reaching forward with raised arms the extra shoulder/arm material needed to not fell like your going to ripe a shoulder seam. Layering with a high quality bulky down vest underneath extends the usefulness of this jacket into cold weather snow sports e.g. skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing. Arm Pit zips can easily expel any excess heat generated by a heavy down vest during the heavy movement heat generation phase of your snow sport. Great for spring/fall hiking/skiing. No need to size up if you have no desire to wear any bulky down vest (or ultra thin lite vest) and have a normal to thin waist for your height. Helmet size hood with stiff brim makes it ideal for rainy and wet snow weather. Maximum Pockets and Maximum Pocket space. While you can find many less expensive nice soft shell jackets for 25% to 50% less my research found at best they have 1/2 the breathability and waterproof ratings which become valuable to those caught in a heavy four hour rain on the mountain/hiking or for an aggressive spring skier or mountain hiker vs. just wearing a soft shell jacket around town.

4.0 out of 5 stars. good jacketReviewed by skier from salt lake city on Sunday, January 19, 2014Bought large.. I am 5'6" 175 lbs. Fits well in shoulders, a little baggy around waist but not too bad. Hangs well. Love the way the collar and hood fit around neck without bagging. Hood lays flat and fits over helmet perfectly. Sleeves too long for my short arms so I turn up cuffs which works perfectly. Lots of pockets, zippers a little stiff. Material is thick, a little heavy, rugged, probably wound not wear on spring day, even though jacket breathes incredibly well. Very comfortable, two to three light layers on cold day.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Mike Wazowski!Reviewed by theFIXXer from Atlanta on Saturday, January 18, 2014First off, I am 5'10, 170 lbs and the L was waaay too big. I like to layer up - still too much room. When I tried it on (sea green) my ten year old, without hesitating, declares - "you look like Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc!" Definitely not the look I was going for. Quality seems legit. Zippers aren't as smooth as I expected. Crazy amount of pocket space. Returned jacket.
