After reading reviews, I knew the tights would be fitting over the waist area. However, I plan on using the tights during my pre-dawn two hour walks. For that purpose, they work just great. I have tried them as a base layer under some shell pants--works just fine. Catch them on sale and if you have a need for extra long tights, buy them.

I really think these tights would be much better with a lower cut waist. I just have to roll the tops down a couple times and they work great.. I imagine they are more ideal for some sort of snow application, as they would probably keep snow off your belly.. Overall, I would buy them again for this price and just continue to roll down the tops..

I was going to wear this for running in cold weather but the waist sits too high. I can pull it up to my ribs is right on as one reviewer here commented. This is also suppose to have a 30" inseam (S) like the other Mountain Hardwear pants but it is definitely longer. I still would have kept it if the waist was much lower.

These are great for the dark ride to work in the mornings - i was actually a bit hot in these the other day.
They're long, but i like that - now i don't have a gap between my shoes and my tights when riding. Great product.

These are really warm and comfortable tights that will go great under shell pants during winter expeditions and climbing. They're a tad long so they might make my ankles uncomfortable when combined with large Sorel-type boots and socks. However, it's my own fault for not getting 3/4 length tights instead. The tights also seem somewhat delicate (as most power-stretch products are), so I'll be careful not to rub them against rocks or trees, etc. Overall I really like these and I think they're great for the price.
