These under-oos are great. They fit like a woman would want rather than the super high base layers I have gotten before. Mountain Hardwear always delivers and these are no exception. If you ladies are looking for a warm pair of unders to wear snowboarding (me) or just around the house, these are great! The ankles are tight so wearing them under your boots is perfect!

I bought these pants to use for backcountry skiing. They have a great side zipper/vent and are fairly light weight and flexible for a softshell... and very soft inside. I only gave these a 4 star because I have not tested their water proof-ness yet. I have tried on Mountain Hardwear pants in the past and found them to run small. These however have plenty of room. They are a little long in the waist which will be good for keeping snow out, but not if you are into low rise pants. I am 5'5" and weigh 125 lbs and I will easily be able to fit another layer under the size M. I ordered another pair in another color.

Great features, flattering pants if you don't have fit issues (I do). Full side zips are not bulky, powder cuffs, nice quiet fabric, natural waist, no rear end flap pockets. BUT - not true sizing for larger sizes. I am a short sz 16 in most mid to high price clothing, but I have never found ANY mfr that makes XL 16 or 14-16 that actually fits sz 16 w/baselayers. I wanted to keep these SO badly, but ...

These are a nice lightly insulated pants. When skiing in warmer temps, the side zips are awesome to cool down. When cooler I can wear long johns underneath. I am not a big fan of the cord cinching at the ankle, the cord tends to get in the way sometimes. Prefer velcro or snaps, but still a great pant for winter hiking, snowshoeing or xx/backcountry skiing.

I tried these in XL, then lost weight and tried L (I am about a 12-14 now). In both cases, the waist is huge compared to the overall size - and I am not curvy - I have a thicker waist. If you wear them really low that would help, but then the crotch would hang too low. So I have to send both back, but I really like them otherwise, so it's a shame.
