Very light weight and probably great for longer trips, but I am a one night backpacker and this backpack was lacking in comfort. To make this pack weigh so little mountain hardwear had to skimp on the waist padding, I had major bruising and chaffage after only 6 miles. The internal frame juts out in the center of the back lining creating a metal point of pressure, that also caused me much pain. A month after I tried out this pack I still have a scar on my lower back from the frame rubbing into my spine. The outer material is very well made, it's light weight and looks delicate but it can withstand a lot of hiking through brush. This may be a great pack for a multiday trip in that it's really light weight but it's not for me.

Maybe production error but after 1 month traveling the seams were ripping. Nice lightweight pack otherwise but had to return.

Got delivery of this backpack, but initially I do not like the fabric at all. It is stiff and thin. Feels like a cheap off-brand pack. However, since it is a Mountain Hardware brand, AND got top ratings from four reviewers, I will reserve final judgement until I actually use it. Wanted to put my snowshoes on the sides and poles on the front, which is why I bought it, but have not yet tried it out. Perhaps it is because I am used to the old-fashioned heavier cordora packs?

I like the fact that Mt. Hardwear has offered a pack that can hold the gear and yet be so lightweight (small weights 2 lbs. 14oz.) This pack compresses to a virtual day pack and expands to a backpacker. I am 5' 2" and the small fits well. Looking forward to carrying snowshoes or x-country skis this winter depending upon the terrain up here at Mt. Rainier, WA this winter and to backpacking next summer/fall.
