The fabric and quality of the pants seem really good, too, and I'm assuming they'll wear well over time.

They aren't cheap, but your money goes mostly to pay for superior design, materials and manufacture, not the name-tag. That is all true for these pants. Unfortunately, however, although I am normally a 31W, and I was pleased that these actually came in that odd size, these are a bit too snug. Also, although they're advertised as being "stretch," there is not really much stretch to them. Still, though, a nice pair of pants.

I generally order 33 waist in pants if available, 34 if they don't sell 33s. My first pair of these in 33 fit great, if anything slightly large, which is fine as I figure a few washings will most likely shrink them a tiny bit anyway. They've been great, comfortable, soft, and easy to wear. Okay, fast forward to recently when I saw STP now had 'em in a couple different colors. So, my new pair pair arrives, same 33 listed size, but they fit much snugger in the waist (and perhaps a bit in length also), I'd say a full size smaller. The bit of stretch to the material and the tendency of pants to loosen in the waist as the day goes would probably make them passable, but I had to finally just own up to the fact that that isn't really worth it, and I sent them back. I probably won't order these again, too much of a gamble as to what I'll get and, while I adore and applaud STP's excellent return policy, the return shipping adds up, as of course does the annoyance of sending stuff back. Bottom line: I recommend these and have really enjoyed my original pair, but have some wariness in the quality control or sizing differences in this batch or whatever's going on. If I were to order another pair of these today, I'd go up one waist size based on what I encountered.
